Cant get my 4x4 drive to work

    Iwwent togo plow the other day and my 4wheel drive would not engage the lever went into gear but it would not spinn the front tires??98 3500 disel

    On the right hand side of the front axle there should be a little vacuum motor, check to make sure it's getting vacuum when the lever is pulled into 4wd. If it is the vac motor is bad, if it isn't start looking for cracked or disconnected lines.

    I had this same problem on my "98 DODGE RAM 3500 DUALLY DEISEL 4X4!!
    It was a 1 way check valve that was bad.
    Part costs about $2.00.
    Yes,that was $2.00.
    It is located up on the driver's side of the engine,near the wipers.
