Cal Trans Plow Truck

    I saw this truck for sale on ebay and it said it was a former Cal Trans truck.
    It looks to be all custom made although I am not sure why the plow is so small.

    Could be the only weight chevy can handle...LOL
    Seriously maybe it's used to grade roads...?

    They are used not only for plowing snow, but for pushing rocks and debris off the mountain roads during slides. Plus the snow is so heavy and wet, they don't put big blades on the smaller trucks. They'd just keep tripping and get no work done. Even the medium duty trucks up here have small blades on them. A lot of those blades are actually made in house.

    Here's a few of the bigger rigs from Placer County up in the Sierras. Same type of plow, just on a bigger truck. Blowers and graders reign supreme up there.

    I don't know about the plow but that truck is only 2wd. No fender flares, and dust covers for the wheelbearings
