    I'm need to calculate how much salt I need to apply ( in general ) per square foot. I've searched the site and found;
    a) 1,000 sq foot == 10 to 15lbs
    b) 10,000 sq foot == 50lbs

    Which is correct ( in general ) ... or is there a cooler way to do an average calculation? ( I seem to remember there was some tool on the net that you could plug some numbers into .... Just can't find it right now ).

    A is the one you want.

    5lbs per 1000sqft is too little for most cases and you dont want to be stuck with with a low bid on salt which is what choice B would be.
