Okay, I changed my mind. I'm not going to bother putting a sno-way on my explorer, I just can't stomach putting a clear polycarbonate plow on it. I have been hearing nothing but bad things about sno-way not sticking to their warranty's. SO! I have decided to trade in the old exploder for a used truck. I am looking at a 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 SLE. This is not the 2500HD by the way, just the regular 2500. I am going to crank the tortion bars up 2 inches to even out the truck, get an alignment done, and throw a brand new 8 foot Fisher HD on her. The truck has the 6.0 liter V8. Does anyone plow or know anyone that plows with this truck?

You'll be fine. That truck (2001- 2500), should have the same GVW as a older (pre 2000) 2500 HD, GVW was 8600 up until 2001 when they came out with the 2500HD label, those are GVW @ 9200, which is the same as the older 3500 SRW. Does it have 8 lug axles, look on the drivers door there should be a sticker, look at GVW, & axle ratings.

Whats the difference in GVW between the 2001+ 2500hd and a 2001+ 3500? Mine is the 3500 2000 OBS ...9200Lbs

'01-up 3500 single wheelers are 9900 GVWR. You only gain 700 lbs with the upgrade.

What B & B said only for a couple of those years (not sure when) there was no SRW 3500.
