I have been quoted 64 a ton. 73 delivered with a min of 20/25. Did anyone receive a lower quote? Also turning it into Magic. Any place in the tri-state area selling pre-treated rock salt? (already magic salt) Any info is appreciated.

Magic Minus-0 $2.50 per gallon picked up(with instructions on how to use and apply it) $3.50 per gallon to treat your salt at your site with REAL magic liquid. There are only three official Magic Dealers in Jersey. Mid Atlantic is not one of them or authorized to deliver in jersey. Be Careful of "cheap" copy cats. you get what you pay for. There are alot of those out there claiming to sell magic and what you are getting is not or it is treated at a lower rate. We are also looking for sub dealers. 201 852 1134 .:)

    from YEARS of experience..................

the most important thing to do is develop a relationship with one or two suppliers if you are serious about deicing. Salt supplies go in cycles, and there are few who can supply customers on a steady basis.

As a retailer, (NOT looking for business, we have enough, so please do not consider this an ad), my regular, no-haggle, no-hassle customers are the ones that get supplied when the shortages hit.

One shot, cheap prices when there is plenty available, either bags or bulk, are a dime a dozen. The supplier you can depend on "when the ship doesn't come in" are the guys you should be dealing with.

Having been in the salt business for over thirty years, I repeat that if you are in the de-icing business for the long haul, find a good, steady supplier, pay your invoices on time, and develop a good working relationship. There will ALWAYS be shortages, maybe not this year or next, but sooner than later.

international salt are the guys...cheapest but you need to order 14-20 days in advance...

otherwise id say stick with your dealer, they may not be cheapest but when its 2am and they have drivers filling your bins, then...is it really that expensive knowing you wont be sued when people start arriving at 7am and someone falls?
