I service 5 diff towns and have trucks and drivers in each, well in 1 town I hired a very nice lady to drive my truck and do a few accounts, well I got a call from a buiss in this town saying their contractor is not showing up and when they do its hrs after the storm. I sent my driver to do this lot after I have talked to the mang and corp both saying I have the lot. This other contractor has been told by both he has lost the account for lak of service but he is still showing up causing problems with my driver, the other day a truck pulled in and blocked her truck in and then 2 more on each side telling her this is their lot and she has to stop plowing ,She called me and I told her let me talk with them and when the guy got on the phone all he said is "Ihave the fu@#$%^ Contract" Well today they got in and plowed bofore my driver showed up.

What a work of art . I think Ill go up and talk with him in person .

Call the cops and have em all arrested and make sure she signs the complaint.

he wouldnt have this problem if he would have been doing what his obligation was and that was to clear the lot. he lost it you got it Best thing to do is deal with it yourself as you said before it gets out of hand. Blocking your driver in takes some nerve so who knows what is next.

    Call the Cops for sure.........

    For blocking her in

    Intimidating her

They will get the message.........I would leave the customer out of it if you can, just show the cops your contract

Bill the customer for the "free" plowing the bullies did for you.....

Agree make sure you have a sign contract with the new cutomer to show the police and call the police and report what had happen, blocking your driver and harrassment. Tell them he also plowed the driveway before you got there. Up here the owner can get a trespass order on him and if he step foot on the driveway he can get arrested.
  6. Since my female driver is my wife let me tell ya if that happened to her the only call I'd be making for them is for an ambulance. I'd pound them into the ground so deep they'd see a road sign for hell.

Since she isn't your wife, call the cops...

That's what I'd do if someone harassed my girlfriend like that. Or I'd pull up and watch her pound these guys into the ground.

But yea, I agree, take your contract to the police, show them, tell the cops what happened, and that you want to file charges. There's no room for BS like this in any "professional" business.

I agree - call the cops for false imprisonment. But don't wait for next time.

Yep, I agree Mick, Call the cops NOW, let them decide if it is a big deal or not..........If the police have knowledge of the situation and it comes up again.......you are all set.

If the police contact the bullie it may back him down completely.

You also might want to switch sites with her and take her spot so you have first hand knowledge of what is going down.

If they have a contract make sure the customer not only canceled the contract, but followed any cancellation provisions required in the contract like providing written notice, or giving them 10 days notice or anything like that.

Make sure YOU have a signed contract for the property.

They might be providing bad service, but if they have a contract, the lot is their's unless the owner legally notifies them of cancellation. Here is a thing to think about: If there is a slip and fall incident and a lawsuit THEY could be held liable because they are responsible for service according to the contract. If they come to court and say they haven't serviced the lot in a month they will be found negligent. So with that in mind, they SHOULD show up until canceled in the fashion provided for in the contract.

All that said, blocking a woman in is BS and she should have called cops. Have the owner call the cops and the cops can tell him not to set foot on the property.

If you confront anyone you best be ready for anything that follows. Never bluff unless your the only one at the table.

Maybe you haven't kept up in the last 15 years about the general mindset of punks today. A punch in the nose no longer works. There was a time when you could ask another man to step outside and settle something. That is no longer the case. Unless you are willing to be sued and or have the cops called on you or more likely get in a battle with a lunatic punk it is best to call the cops. Explain you want charges pressed as they did restrain her and kept her from leaving. I would imagine a cop could also add assault charges and maybe harassment of a witness.

Ya gotta know when ta hold em, Know when ta fold em, Know when ta show em and when ta walk away.

Not sure about where you are but verbal is enough for assault in N.H. When it gets physical its considered battery. If she says she feared for her well being and life it is better than just she was scared, when it goes in front of a judge.

Same here, I'd be beating some folks if they missed with my girlfriend like that.

Definitely call the cops. And, I agree with Indyplower. Sometime, go out there and clear that lot instead of her. See what happens.

If it happens again, whether your there or your driver is, the cops should be called immediately

And I for one would give a weeks wages to see that!!

Sadly.... you would be the one in trouble. Best reason in the world right here for everyone to carry a camera cell phone. Absolute proof to nail their sac to a stump in court. Hope this all shakes out in your favor.

I had just read this thread yesterday and I was thinking what I would do in this situation. I would have called the cops I thought yesterday.

Well, this morning at about 7am I got threatened by a man who climbed up on the side of my truck, and put his arms in. He was actually touching me. I told him to get out of my space and get off my truck. He said no to me. I told him again to get out of my face and off the truck. He said quite simply, NOPE. He was irate that our loader driver broke two boards on his rickety fence two days ago removing snow from a housing complex of mine. The incident was reported to the housing authority. Anyway, he went on that he took pics and he had a lawyer. I was trying to put my window up but he refused to get off the truck so I drove forward and told him to get off and quickly rolled the window up. He started banging on my window with his closed fist. I drove into the complex and he followed me around and stood blocking me in. He would not let me leave. He kept yelling at me to open my window and I just shook my head. Well, it only took them ten minutes to get there but the OPP did show up after they were called. They escorted him to the cruiser and after the report was taken, the jerk is now restrained from coming within 100 feet of me, communicating with me in any way etc. They asked if I wanted to press charges against him and I declined. I would hope he stays clear of me from now on!

I can do without mornings like that. It really made me wish I had my German Shepherd with me. He never took kindly to men getting too close to me. I have been so flustered since then I am surprised I never ran into or over something.

    Good times.

Sorry to hijack your thread, I just thought it went with your story too.
