    I have a Tekonsha Sentinel brake controller and the green LED stays on even when truck is off and drains the battery. It worked fine for three years. Is the box shot or is there another problem?

    I think alot of them stay on while there is a connection to the trailer.

    i think the green light indicate's power to the plug, test the pin in the plug for the brake's to see if you have power without activating the control .if so maybe the control is shorted wide open causing it to draw power and run the battery down

    The only time the green light should be on is when a trailer is connected.
    Green= go red= stop

    No trailer= no light. take a look at your trailer plugs

    Corrosion build up inside the truck side plug is a common thing that can cause a problem like yours. Disassemble the plug and check it very carefully for corrosion, if you find it's all good then there's a good chance the brake box is defective.
