i have a 8.5 sh2 stright blade and there will be times were i cant lift or angle the blade but other times it wont lift or angle right away the cylonoid under the hood clicks when hit the rocker switches. ill sit there clicking the rocker switch few time then will move sometimes doesnt that much or it seems like normal. i took the power and ground cables off the plow motor cleaned them seemed to work fine right after did that but seems to still kind of do when i just hooked it up tonight. could i be that the power connector isnt on good enough. seems to affect lifting the tower on the truck to. had couple guys think might be plow motor.

Since you already cleaned the connections at the motor it should be all good there... and that never hurts to do..

Usually though, on the Boss's it's the connector plug at the bumper that causes these kinds of problems. Give it a good cleaning and spread the pins slightly on the male side with a small screw driver..

alright ill have to try that i remember in the last post someone said that was wondering what plug they were talking about. didnt thing of the on on the bumper there. hope fully will work doing that thanks. sure would hate to have to spend the money on new motor right now lol.

Get spending... just replaced mine last week... same problems you relate...

When the battery cable bumper connections go bad, I usually just cut them of and replace them with Anderson connectors... nice and durable and easy to clean the terminals in.

brought it in after stopped working this morning wasnt the plow motor replaced the plow side power cable and the sylonoid was shot. so glad saved my self couple hundred dollar

B&B, do you have the part number for the anderson connectors? I may want to swap out the stock Boss connectors as I just started to experience the same problem on a 3 year old plow.
