bed removal

    I have a 99 silverado (new bodystyle) . how do you remove the bed???

    The bolts come from under the truck, there should be 8 (4 per side) that run through the top flange of the frame rail into the bed cross supports. Remember to disconnect all the wiring at the harness junction block (drivers side rear corner under the bed) and remove the screws that hold the fuel fill neck (open fuel fill, remove gas cap, should be 3 screws) along with the ground wire to the fuel fill neck before you try picking the bed up. 4 guys can pick the bed up if you have no other way to lift it.

    I would spray the bolt thread's with corrosion x or something like WD 40. I am a BIG FAN of corrosion x. It's not cheap but it work's. www.corrosionx.com or buy it at your local airport FBO or a marine shop.
