Battery Light and check Engine Light Flashing?

Alright, my 92 K3500 has a 454 and standard tranny and seems to run fine. I noticed a problem on occasion though where the tach will jump just a bit and the battery light and check engine light will flash on for a split second (maybe 1/2 second), then go back to normal. There is absolutely no change in the way the truck runs during this, no knocks, hesitation or changes in the volt meter. Any ideas?

The most common thing that can cause a problem such as this especially on an older truck, is the connector plug where it plugs into the back of the gage cluster. Pull the cluster out of the dash and clean the contacts on the printed circuit and the connecting plug with a pencil eraser and a few drops of alcohol.
