Anyone have a backrack with a tool box and tonneau cover without using the tool box brackets?

I've got one with a tonneau cover but no tool box. I don't think it will work without the tool box brackets. You won't have the clearance.

I just don't want the box sitting higher then it already is if I don't have to

A guy I know has the normal brackets and but the triangle right next to the bolts out and bolted the tool box down with it, looks kinda cockeyed/whooptie. My advice is get the plates that go over the bed rails, and extend the 1/8 inch steel on the mounts so the box sits flat but that's just me. If you don't get those plates that cover the box rail and just use the mounts, the wind tends to push the whole set up backwords putting an impression into your bed rails.
