I've got a hinged one and don't really care for it. I used it a couple of times and it seems like the blade does just as good a job so I took it off and it's sitting along the wall...

Ive got one on both of my plows (8' poly super duty) and when the snow is wet a packy, they work wonders because the angle that they are on, they dig into the snow and the plow doesnt lift up when you back drag. I also had one on a 7-6 poly western that was on a different truck, and it also worked great. I would recommend it if you do a lot of driveways or backdragging in general.
