It will add weight to your plow because you have to turn your metal edge upside down or put a piece of 3/8"x 3" wide steel to pinch the poly or rubber edge in between the plow and the edge and not to mention longer bolts as well. some advantages are no shoes, more forgiving than steel on unseen obstacles, not as harsh on grass, easier on the truck as well
    hope this helps.

    An 8 x 8 x 1.5 polyurethane cutting edge weighs about 55 lbs.

The poly actually works quite well and lasts longer than most would think. The advantage is it does not damage the customers concrete or terra lock driveways. We had a Snow Way plow with the poly cutting edge and were surprised at how long it lasted even though the plow was not much. You can check out www.fallline.com for poly cutting edges.

You could also check out www.superiortire.com, or do a search for Polar Edge and found out a lot of information about this product on this site.
