I am disappointed to not have heard anything on how the new DXT's are working out. I'm sure there are not a lot out there yet, but it would be nice to hear some reviews. Anyone hear anything good or bad??

x2!! I've been tossing the idea of upgrading my F-450 and new Sterling 5500 with them. Thought it was gonna be a huge hit like the VXT

    Make that X3.........
I emailed Boss last night to see if they were going to offer 9.2 and 8.2 DXT's to the masses next year, this is what they said

Thank you for contacting THE BOSS Snowplow. Yes, we will be releasing both 82 and 92 DXT plows later this season. In fact, we will be introducing the complete DXT Family at the upcoming NTEA show in Indianapolis next week.

Stay in touch with your local BOSS Dealer for information on when these plows will be available. Specifications and product information will be on our website starting next week.

Please let me know if I can be of any additional assistance.

    Thank you.

My plan is to buy a v-plow for next year, I've been leaning towards a Western or Fisher due to the trip edge but now that Boss is offering a smaller DXT I'm re-thinking what I"m going to do.

What are your pros/cons vs Western vs Boss? Anyone?

The first plow I put on my 06 Duramax was a 8'6" Western MVP, I used it one season and it was a great plow just didnt like the ultramount and the controller. The trip edge is really nice and the new headlights were really bright. I've had my Boss 8'2" power v for 3 years and love everything it! Easy to mount, user friendly controller, and its very tuff and takes some abuse. My three Mitsus' have Boss' on them and my old man's have Western and they both hold up great for all the commerical plowing we do, it just all depends on personal preference I guess

I used a 8'2" Boss DXT the last few days. Really an awesome blade. After using it I actually give them more credit on the "game changer" advertising from last yr. It's really smooth while a wing edge trips. And barely any snow gets dropped. While using it I had situations where just the edge tripped, and I had situations where the whole moldboard tripped.

This winter there are a lot of concrete joints moving up and down here, so I have several places where I've had to be carefull with my regular plows, going slow over these joints, angling the plow when going over, etc.... With the DXT I just flew along and let it do its thing and barely noticed the wings tripping. You can feel it but not hardly compared to a full moldboard trip.

One thing both me and the employee I let test it also both noticed one big thing we both liked... It scraped better and back dragged better! I'm talking like it scraped as good as my old 810 scraped, which was the best scraping plow I ever owned. I asked the dealer if maybe the cutting edge attack angle was changed with the new wings and they weren't sure. So they are gonna ask Boss and let me know.

I know going forward I'm going to only be buying DXT's , and I'm even thinking of buying DXT wings for my existing plows.

I'm glad Image that your really liking the DXT.

It's definitely on my wish list for next season. How much of a difference in price did you pay compared to the VXT?

We just used it as a demo. They didn't have pricing for me. I asked on wing prices too and they didn't have that either. I know Jim from ESI has some for sale so he's got prices if you ask him.

Bought our 9.2 DXT from equipment specialists about a month ago. It's been used three times and the first 3 hours of plowing it was ok, chattered quite a bit till edges got broke in. Now it's as good as expected this plow is built like an army tank! The reinforced bottoms on the wings should be done on all the V-plows. I feel that the wait is worth it from boss because they do the R&D in order to make the product far superior than anything on the market! THE DXT IS EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT FROM BOSS! I am forever a boss owner!

Are the 9'2" DXTs the same height as the 10" (wings) or are they more in line with the current VXTs?

    Hey Mark,

On the Stainless DXT is the only difference the stainless skin instead of the poly skin? Or is the rest of the wing made from stainless also?

Here's a vid explaining the cutting edge/base angle on the DXT ... different than I figured as it doesn't come with an actual formed cutting edge when you purchase it. Found it interesting as I've never used a trip-edge.

Yes, that is correct, the only difference is the skin type.
