amp draw for old motor?

    Anyone know what kind of ampereage my motor should draw? Mine is 300 truck idleing, lifting plow. Cable operated-single post motor.

    300 sounds a little high to me. Mine is newer, and it pulls about 200.

    300 is too much. Shouln't pull more than about 200-220 max at full relief.

    Mine does the same thing. Every time I touch it mine goes down to 9 amps on my gauge. It dips into the beginning of the red. My plow mechanic said you will need a new motor, but at the same time when he opened it up said it was clean and looked good. Said to get as much use as possible out of it but soon get a new motor.
