    Hello all.....First time poster here.

Picked up a 98 Silverado 1500 the other day with a 5.7 vortex. I see under the hood that there's a spot under the hood on the drivers side where a 2nd battery could go. (I would presume it's there for the diesel motors) Anyway, I want to put in a 2nd battery simply because I live in northern Wisconsin.
My questions are, do I just run a + cable off one of the lugs off the back side of the fuse block under the hood and the neg. to the block? (pic), and if so, do I need to run a different alternator or is the factory one sufficient?
