88' 4x4 problems

    wen i put the truck in 4wheel high/low and start to drive off u can here a faint grinding noise. then wen u take a corner (slowly) theres a poping sound wich is much louder. it is enough to actually stop the truck (literally- theres a poppygrindy sound and the truck jerks and stops) it is not the cv shaft axels i found that out 140 dollars later!
    any advice would be welcome.- thanks

    Well Id start by looking at the front diff, does this only happen in 4x4 only?next I would have a look at the fluid in the front diff to see if theres any metal in it. Check that out and let us know
