hey guys i just got my 88 2500 on the road. it takes off ok and cruises nice but when im driving and i start goin up hill it feels like im towing a mack truck. if i push the gas more it kinda hesitates then takes off like a rocket ship. any ideas what it might be? Im gonna try unplugging the egr valve and then this weekend ill change out the fuel filter.

Maybe fuel filter. Also a full tuneup may help. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

K.I.S.S. i would start with the plugs, wires , cap and rotor before i would do anything else. sound like the wires are arcing. and don't go with the cheap wires they only last a year and you have the same problem if you have replaced all this stuff look at the coil on my 88 the coil would get wet and the truck would start to run like sh**.
