85 chevy ignition issue

    heres the deal i havea 85 chevy pickup that i got from the junkyard, no keys... how to remove the lock cylinder, or at least be able to start so i can drive onto my trailer, any suggestions

    pull steering wheel.

    pull lockplate .

    move aside turn signal switch.

    remove bolt and then lock tumbler.

    get new tumbler and keys from local parts store.

    reinstall .

    takes about 15min and steering wheel puller and lock plate compressor tool.

    the lock plate conpressor tool just compresses the spring right, lol well heres what i did to get it running and onto my trailer, lol broke the cover on the column, cut the rod, and push in = truck fired right up, i dont need the column now to figure out how to stop it from being n the lock position so i can move it in my yard.. thanks though
