My local dealer just quoted me 8200.00 to install a new Boss V on a
    2002 F250! I expected around 5500 or so but 8200??? no way

kind of wanted a 810 but no dealers near me have them. Back to the drawing board....

This is the truck and equipment picture forum! Has nothing to do with the price of rice in china!:waving:

Even though this is the wrong category, I'll tell you right now that $8200 is INSANE. You can do a lot better than that.

Not saying that this is a good price but for the guys in the east and midwest that don't know, plows sell for alot more money in the western US than in your areas.

    Why is that?

I think it has to do with alot less retailers in the business (no competition) and transportation costs since all the manufacturers are here in the Midwest or east coast.

    Makes sense.

Buy one out of the midwest, and have it shipped to you......I think you would still come out ahead.

That's just stupid! I can get two 9' Hiniker scoops cash and carry for that price. I'd try another dealer. That's even be high for a 10' Vee

Only quotes i've heard in that ballpark are the Western wideout's.

Sure guys could do it that way but what about the dealer support for parts and service that everyone needs at some point? It's been this way ever since I have been selling out west which is going on 17 years and IMO will never change.

    Nope.. Correct pricing

    as follows

    9'2" V 8268.80

    7'6" V 7419.07

    8'2" V 7605.12

    8'6" Straight Blade 7290.68

Pretty hard to justify any of those prices!

Just paid $5,071 including tax for a 8.2V

Buddy just bought 8'6" Boss for $4200 including tax.

    We did the install ourselves.

These prices did include 600.00 for install labor but even if you take that out the price is 2,000.00 more than you paid. Unreal

so your tellin me that my/your local dealer isnt going to sell me some parts just bc i didnt buy my plow from them? as far as i can see the days of customer service and trying to make you a repeat customer has gone away. I know there are still some "real shops" that truly care but most are out to get you once and move on the the next "one" not the next customer.

this is just my observation (sp) ussmileyflagtymusic

Bring in some info off the net and show him the prices and say your willing to pay more but not 2k more, just to see what he says. A poly 9'2 with SL around here is about $6600 and we always pay more then our US counterparts.
