I have a 1991 6.2 CHEVY DIESEL that has a loss of power and alot of blue smoke out the exhaust. The head gaskets were changed but would there be something else to cause these problems. The engine has 400,000km. on it.

I'd check your compression, and also your injectors. How old are the injectors? Is it using a lot of oil? check out the forum on www.thedieselpage.com as there is a lot of good info there.

It sounds like timing chain jumped, but uts not likely.Low power, check the lift pump on the passs side of the eingine,it looks like an old stlye mechanical fuel pump, this went out on my uncles truck, and it did the same thing you are describing.
