Has anyone had to deal with breaking off the dipstick tube at the base of the block ? If so what methods did you use for removal ? It's a 2003 chevy 2500hd with a 6.0 gasser. I changed the manifold and bolts and found that the dipstick was rotted off lol. Thanks in advance Denny.

I use a small slide hammer with an attachment that threads into the old tube. There is a small rubber o-ring on the tube just inside the block that holds the tube in the most. Heat and penetrating oil might help also. hope this helps and good luck.

Well got her fixed. I used a torch to warm up around the old dip stick which melted the o-ring and the used a easy out to get it to break free. Then I used a sheet metal screw and a slide hammer to pull her out.
