As the title states. I have a 2011 Chevrolet 2500hd z71 duramax. The front end gross weight is 5200. I'm wanting the Boss DXT v plow 8'2.

Good idea for this truck or bad? Was told this plow is a little too heavy for the truck.

No problem. I'm running larger plows then that on my duramax with 4800lb front ends. Had an 810 on my 09 CCSB.

I would change out the bars for the 6000lbs ones.

You can but don't need to. I am running a western 8'6" v on my '11 with 5300 ft end

You will hardly even know the blade is on there.
