Bought my Avalanche 2nd owner in 2008 dealer had put 2 new exhaust manifolds on @ 35k miles. Now @ 113k miles. Pass frt. bolt has been broken / now leaks,... Truck runs hot w/ plow
on, even w/airflow scoop/severe duty fan clutch. any info ?? Happy 4th P/S Guys/ Ladies ;) :drinkup:

Two separate problems; from what I read newer trucks tend to break manifold bolts. Higher exhaust temps from lean mixture, engine operating temps and catalytic converter restriction? As far as engine running hot, could be one of several issues; restricted radiator tubes, restricted airflow through tubes(dirty coils like on an air conditioner), water pump not moving enough water, defective thermostat( not fully opening) Hope this helps with troubleshooting, good luck.

check for crumbly fins on radiator, reduces cooling, should have an electric twin fan in front of radiator, is it working? should have installed gaskets to help with temp variation, proper torque is important
