have a 2001 gmc gas dump that recently has been in for a new fuel pump, then an o2 sensor, then an ignition switch. Our first snow last the the power steering pump went out and then the truck died. fixed the pump. Plowed with the truck for about 9 hours yesterday and the truck died just like last week. Went to start it this morning and it fired right up. Any thoughts ? No codes are coming up.

What about the fuel filter? I am know mechanic but it seems since it is hit or miss with starting it could be that.

You said it was a gas engine... is it 6.0 or 8.1?

The 8.1's had cam sensor problems in the '01's that will cause the exact problem you dealing with..
