2000 Ram 1500 With 72K on odometer and 1000 mile trip I'v got the dreaded humming from drivetrain and slight vibration. Trying to locate where it's coming from. Sounds like up front but noise can travel. Don't hear it when accelerating (or under load) only when I let off the gas or slowing down.
Other post show the rear pumpkin bearing with humming while accelerating but this is when I let off the gas.
I think I ruled out tranny since I get humming while coasting in neutral and nothing's clunking so shouldn't be U-joints
Had a 98 grand Cherokee I traded in with same symtoms. replaced both front wheel bearings but didn't help noise.
    Any ideas appreciated.
