I have a 1998 z71 1500 extended cab and I have a clunking in the front end on the driver side when i go over bumps. What could it be and is it a hard repair.

Could be your u-joints, or the cvc axle is bad. Look and see if the boot on the cvc axle (it covers your u joints on the axle) is torn, if so get it replaced. You will lose all the grease inside the boot, then the u-joints will go out. You don't want salt, and sand, and whatnot else from the road in there.

90% of the time on the old body style trucks a clucking in the front is either a loose or worn shock (or shock bushing)...or a broken sway bar end link or worn sway bar bushing at the frame.

It's that other 10% that can a be bit difficult to track down. :realmad:
