05 silverado check engine

    hi i have an 05 silverado. check engine light came on and just before that tighten fuel cap came on the dash . after 30 seconds tighten fuel cap went off and check engine light is still on the truck has 82000 miles on it
    any ideas mike

    Go to autozone or something similar and they'll plug it in...you'll have to do it eventually anyway to either figure out exactly what's wrong or to clear the code if its something stupid

    more than likely its an evap code!!!!!!!! gm has a bulletin ou to move the evap vent solonoid do to debris such as dirt/dust and snow/ice from entering it get the code pulled and go from there good luck

    went to auto zone pulled the code po455 rechecked the fuel cap checked hoses looked for vac leaks everything seems to check out ok cleared the code hope this was a fluke?

    give it a few ignition cycles and it will shut itself off. Did the same thing to my truck a year ago.

    po455 is a large evap leak was more than likely caused by the solenoid valve from debris may or may not come back on but if it does check into the bulletin by gm for replacing and relocating
