Just today on my 04 F250 5.4 the emission light on the dash came on and the past 2 days the trans felt like it slipped in between 2nd and 3rd gear. The OFF light on the shifter started flashing. Anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

Have the computer scanned the emission light could be a bad O2 sensor or other expensive sensor. Most chain part stores can scan it for you in the hope of selling you the parts to fix it. If you can get the codes, go to the library and look the codes up in a professional repair manual. Larger libraries will have them. Also pictures and procedures for changing the part and clearing the codes.
The blinking overdrive light is not good. It's shifting hard or slipping that's even worse.
Some people luck out and it's the wire pig tail / connector to the transmission that is bad.
    I am never that lucky!
Get it looked at, the longer it goes the more parts it chews up!
