    04 chevy 2500hd 6.0 runs hot and takes forever for the cab to heat up.

    i had to take mine in to the dealer and have the clutch fan changed. they have an issue with these. they had a memo on them but no recall. no charge to fix mine. i have the same truck.

    Can it be back washed or dose it need to be replaced?

    I assume you checked the coolant level? Sounds like you have two issues going on. Let the truck warm up and turn the heater on and find the both heater hoses going through the firewall, grab both of them, both should be hot, ie 180F. If one is quite a bit colder than the other, flush the heater core out with water, back and forth a few times..

    I noticed the problem agin tonight with the plow on it was running real hot and I hit a bump and it came down dramatically.
