I have a '01 Ram 1500 Sport. It has two composite headlight bulbs per side (9004, 9007 halogens). The headlight adapters I bought from my dealer are 1HL7. The adapter has 1 connector for the plow harness, 2 connectors for the bulbs and only one feed connector which leaves me with 1 feed unused. The kit has little to no instructions and I have tried every combination of hooking these up with no success. My Curtis Dealer/Service can not figure it out and had Curtis send me new adapters. They sent the same kit, 1HL7. I again tried every combination to install but cannot get them to work properly. All wiring, harness, inside switch is correctly wired. Is there anyone who is familiar with this situation that could offer some guidance as to correctly install these? Need help before the next storm. Thanks!

OK . . . I spoke with another Curtis installer, They told me the 1HL7 light adapter kit was the correct one. They told me to hook the two connectors from the adapter to the headlight bulbs. 3 prong to low beam (like original wiring) and two prong to high beam. The original low beam feed, three prong goes to headlight adapter which there is only one and that leaves the plow harness connector which connects only one way with the lock. I might also add that this is a brand new plow harness, truck side and plow side, new one with the square connector and separate power connectors. Next I ohm out the switch inside the cab, works properly, connect wires per Curtis specs. Turn on truck low beams, they work. Switch to high beams and have none as original connector is not hooked to anything because there is no connector on the 1HL7 headlight adapter for it. There is also three hot wires on the back of the switch. I know this all sounds confusing, does anyone follow me? Does anyone have a Dodge with a Curtis plow with 4 halogen bulbs for headlights? I am lost and can not get any help from Curtis dealers and service here in upstate NY. Also, three days trying to get through to Curtis factory, busy, busy, busy, hold for hours at a time. Any help please?

Been to 2 Curtis installers in New York and drove to 1 in Vermont. All three are baffled and confused and all agree that the 2001 Dodge Ram Sport needs special headlight adapters. What Curtis has marked down for this install is wrong. I must say that I am disgusted that even the main Curtis in MA cannot even figure this out. Love the plow but it's worthless without lights. Time to get something different. Thanks Curtis!
