The last picture is of when we got stopped by a state trooper!!!! He shut us down and made him turn rig around and take it back to where we started. We where a mile away! I laughed the most when the trooper was trying to pull him over but he could not see the trooper. The trooper called in a pursuit because a mile went buy before he realized he getting pulled over.

Like I said not my project! We had many trucks blocking traffic but this guy is a old farmer and he is set in his ways that means no permits. This is the 5th time he has done this.

LOL. I use to escort for a living ( for trucks ;) ) I have worked with height, over weight, wide and long loads. I have seen trips much less then your friends go bad.
I have to admit, that looked like a lot of fun, brings back memories.

Found these 2 pictures of a load that I took down from PA to NY's Tri Bough Bridge. ( RFK Bridge) The beams were over 100' long, and they were strapped to a fixed dolly. That was fun :dizzy:

I would have moved that without even a thought. We use to run around with 22ft headers on the combine untill we got a bigger one. Cop should have at least
let you finish then fine you.

My boss wanted me to go on a windmill run. He bidded a job to move some blades from I believe Texas to North New England. I wasnt interested in it, so i turned it down. Each load required 4 escorts.

When I was driving home from Kansas City, MO, in June, we (my dad and I) saw three different rigs hauling what we think were blades for a wind turbine. Those suckers had to be 100' long and each one had 3-4 escorts. No police escorts, though.

One guy had to pull off for fuel, and it took him 3 or 4 tries of backing and turning to get his rig back on the highway.
