Looking to buy a Superduty Ford F 350 - F 550 xlt dump truck. 9ft dump. Single cab. Prefer black and low miles. Will consider v10 also. I have cash in hand. Please send detailed pictures of what you have and all info. Thanks.

If it has rust I'm not interested. No beat equipment.

That's a nice truck. If only it were a diff year and 9ft dump! I priced out a brand new 450xlt loaded with alcoas and a 9ft steel dump for 45k. V10. Don't know much about the 6.4 except a few buddies had terrible luck, worse than 6.0 luck!

Not in jersey. You can get 10k off a chassis in NH. I had thought a regular 9ft steel dump was 9k. Tomorrow I'll get the prices for dump bodies. Just 9ft mason dumps.

On ford website the 450xlt msrp is 45k

There's nothing wrong with a 6.4 that is setup the right way and has been gone through by a well educated tech that knows what they need. Some of my most favorite trucks to drive are 6.0's and 6.4's.

A v10 will be significantly cheaper then a diesel of any year, also a 450 will be cheaper then a 550 too. Same chassis basically but different gearing options and different gvwr's that varied through the years and what package you ordered.

The window sticker on a lariat F550 with the 6.7 is 64k for the cab and chassis, not upfitted with anything yet.

I have a 6.0 SRW and love it. I have done a ton of research on them and know them pretty well. The 6.4 I haven't done much research aside from techs saying they are worse than the 6.0.

If you tune and delete them early on they are pretty good motors. The regen system on them if left on for long periods of time has been proven to cause damage. Also maintenance is key if they are left stock, 3-4k oil changes and such. Ford's spec is 2qt of diesel in the oil per ever 5,000mi oil change as a side effect of the regeneration process. Some guys went from 7.3's that they maintained when they felt like to 6.4's and treat them the same with with oil changes few and far between and wonder why at 140k they need a motor.

Radiators tend to leak on them and they need updated coolant hoses (white ends) otherwise the factory ones with the black ends like to leak over time. Egr and dpf delete, if you want, studs and head gaskets, and a few other things depending how far you want to tear into it or what damage is done.

If setup right, they are a beast of a motor. They have very strong bottom ends and the 5R110 transmission is a stout unit as well.

Well said mark. And when buying any used for you should pull an oasis report from ford showing the mechanical history of the truck warranty wise. Jared you hit the nail on the head

I bought a 2015 2x4 F550 with flatbed last year for work, 41K. Only had upfitters and trailer brake. I can see a CC 450 4x4 for 45K in XLT.
