    Been there, fixed that. Weld a little stock on it, straighten out the damaged are first and it will be as good as new.

    I touched on this once before GV but here it is again since I like you....

    To help prevent that issue run TWO lock nuts and TWO washers...one on each side of the bracket. It helps take the twisting stress off the thin section of the bracket and also helps to keep the spring from pulverizing the bracket if the spring breaks.

    Haven't lost a bracket on a double nut setup yet...

    Interesting, that must be why the new eye bolts I bought has 2 washers and nuts on them. I was wondering why it had 2 of each.
