Just had a used Meyer Plow professionally installed and checked out on my 92 F150. Went out this am and fried a battery, so replaced battery and had super alternator installed.
Worked for 2 drives and died at the third. Clicking only (solenoid? Ground?) Frustrated as heck and Totally out of funds! Help please!!:dizzy:

Truck runs great. Put plow down when parked for a few minutes and wouldn't raise. only clicking.

    WooHoooooo!!! Fixed!!

    Many, many thanks, Fernalddude!
    Midnight help is appreciated immensely.
In the light of day, we were able to find that the power wire was around the frame and got pinched, explaining the clicking solenoid. So definitely not enough power getting through to operate the pump. Never got as far as using the meter. With better light and cooler heads could see that the wire was compromised and it fell apart when he touched it.
Your help and suggestions as well as troubleshooting methods will be filed away in my brain, the truck, the house, and the computer for future reference, if needed.:redbounce

More Problems, More Help. Problem permanently fixed!!

:dizzy:Clicking started again, and again. Would work fine, sit for a minute or 2 and click, click, click.:gunsfiring:
With Fernaldude's patient help, we tracked it down to a chunk of magnet that had broken off and was intermittantly binding the armature. Removed the chunk and:bluebounc !
New motor on the way, but working with the old one till it arrives, hopefully today.

We've sure gotten a crash course in the mechanics (and electricals) of plows in the last couple of weeks!

Getting ready to put together an emergency repair kit on a budget and would love any suggestions you might have as to its contents. Found this one for $58.05. Is it best to just buy the kit or put your own together?

Also, any brilliant ideas for getting accounts after the third snow? Need to get this thing to pay for itself, and hopefully the house and bills! payup
    Thanks to everyone!
