I was talking to a backhoe operator yesterday and he says when he's plowing lots when guys are making windrows for him, and he's using a skidsteer with a 12 foot sectional blade, he doesn't want windrows wider than 6 feet. Then if he's using a backhoe with a bigger loader blade no wider than 10 feet. I was wondering if you operators agree with him or have a preference on windrow width size. I've seen other operators not say anything and this guy does. I've seen both machines go on the side of a bigger windrow and not have a problem. Is it more efficient to plow over a smaller windrow than to chip at it along its side based on the machine your using? Thanks.
