Why you shouldn't plow with a half ton.....

    GV's right-that was the dump option offered that year. Those may look like running boards but chevy engineered giant hinge pins integrated into the step. They hold the truck together.

    I use to plow with a 96 gmc with 7 1/2ft fisher. it was a 1/2 ton and it did great. obviously the frame cracked on that one haha

    I have seen chevy's that have been sitting and they break right there in the middle and fold down (probably since there isn't a spreader on the back!). That would be a real bummer to have happen while plowing....but man you must be the most ignorant SOB to have not seen that coming!

    wow, that is interesting, collapsible frame, for those tight parking spots nice, too bad my ford does not have this nice option!

    I used to drive a ramp truck with a frame that had pins and articulated like that,it was called "Landoll Centerfold".The Idea was to have a low aproach angle it was great for hauling `Vettes and other exotics.
