    Hi all
looking at tires checking Bfgs specs and some sizes say not rated for severe snow. Why is this? Especially when section width/tread width are similiar to other sizes?
    Thanks
    Kurt

To get the M+S rating, they need to have a certain rubber compound, siping, and self cleaning lugs. Snow ratings have nothing to do with tire size. Certain tire sizes may have slightly different lugs or less siping, although they look the same, they don't grip packed snow or ice the same.

PS, my BFG AT KO's are pretty good in snow, but they get walked on by the cooper discoverer MS. Thumbs Up
