Why in the world did Western go and put the module and solenoid next to the pump in the elements. They had a great thing, why change it to a potential problem.
Anyone have any ideas on this?

Less wiring for install. The ability to use straight, wideout or v plow with same harness. More parts to break.

If you don't like it you should still be able to get a straight blade with out fleet flex.

Thanks for the insite. I never heard of that and I have been working on plows for 19 years.

It has been around since DD introduced security guard feature. One of the most important things to remember with it is that the truck side power connector at the bumper is always hot. Has to be covered when not in use.
