When I sub out my 9ton, does the price I charge per hour include fuel. Sorry for such newbie questions but this is the first year for me subbing trucks. thank you.

Not necessarily. It's however you negotiate it. If you can negotiate for them to pay for fuel, by all means, do so. Everything is open to negotiation.

Agreed. It's all part of the hourly rate, unless negotiated prior commitment

I pay for fuel and a truck wash for all of my subs
But I also only pay these guys $80 an hours for their truck with my salter and their plow

My subs have 250 pick up 8 foot plow
Other guys have 550s with 9 foot plows
I'm less then other guys but every Friday they get paid and they get a lot of hours per storm

On those deep, wet, heavy snows your subs probably come out ahead.

Why do they come out ahead
The way we plow with the storms and only keep 4 sites per truck most take 1 hour start to finish

Usually you are paying for your own fuel when you are subbing.

10-4 fellas. Thank you for your input. This is my first year where I have enough vehicles where I will be subbing some out.

If you're not paying for your own fuel, you're an employee not a sub.... At least in the eyes of the IRS

The fuel is part of your hourly rate agreed. Some guys charge a fuel sur charge. We get 55.00 per hr with a 10 ton.

Do you accept the wooden nickles option? Or are you in the habit of taking AMEX info under names that are not my own?
