Does anyone know how battery voltage is regulated on an 88 S-10? Voltmeter is shwoing lower and lower, finally reached the point where raising the plow will make the radio cut out briefly. NOT getting a battery low warning light. I'm half heartedly thinking that the regulation is done by the computer. The alternator does not have the "old" two prong plug that the earlier, internally regulated alternators had. I dread the thought of having to toss major $ at this thing.

Alan, its internal, you should have the 100CSI in that truck, unless its a base model, you alternator is bad.The rectifier has gone out of it,my 89GMC did the same thing last year.the only other thing it could be is the charge wire isnt hot,but it sounds like the alternator.
