Lately when its been cold say under 35, I click the key on for the glow plugs and my fuel pump kicks on and pulsates loudly instead of the normal 5 second running that it usually does. Is this normal for a 7.3?

Diesel fuel get's thicker as the temp drops. All the 7.3's I drive are in doors at 65 + degrees. The 2 diesels, I owned, I always put the fuel conditioner in when winter hit's. Never had a problem. My Wife's had a block heater, had heat at the end of the block as She went down the road. My Diesel started no problem at 20 below with the conditioner added. No Block heater plugged in.
