The intercoolers appeared in the Early 99 model year. These truckes were manufactured in 1998.
There was no 1998 model F250 DIESEL, however, some model year F250 were produced as gassers and were on the F150 platform.........Clear as mud right.......Technically a Superduty F250 and larger are intercooled from early 1999 til mid 2003.:dizzy:

All that is needed is a spyder out of an E99, an intercooler out of a 99-03, the intercooler tubes out of a 99-03 and some fabrication skills. It is actually done all the time......it allows for stage 2 or larger injectors and larger turbo's. Without the IC, with said mods all you get is a very hot and smokey PIG.

    not entirely true. i bought 2 98 diesels .
at the last job, we had a 98 F-250 2 wheel drive, and a 98 F-350 4wheel drive. they were leftover late production 97's that were re-tagged as 98's.
they were sold by ford and i picked them up at the dealership new in February of 1998

That would be the first 1998 diesel I have ever heard of. The 1998 F250 was based on the F150 body. 8 bolt wheels, and a V8. I see them on occasion. They must be a PIA at the parts store though......most books dont list much for the 98. It is a hybrid, if you will....

I had an OBS F350 Diesel 4x4 SRW that was tagged and titled a 98. It was bought new in March 98 at Colonial Ford in Danbury, CT.

like i said, the 98 F-250 and F-350's were late production 97's that were retitled and sold as 98's
