Hey guys I just bought a used whelen lp responder, this one doesn't have the switch to change flash patterns thr seller told me there was a separate wire on the plug, and I would have to cut the plug and ground the wire to get different flash patterns is this true?

I wouldn't cut the plug off...

The scan lock wire is what your looking for. Open the bar up and find the white/volet wire then strip it 5/8 of an inch. Plug the bar in and touch the white/violet wire to the power wire for one second. pattern will change.

    see page two..

    Hey Mulcahy
I Figured out the problem. what I did with the purple and white wire was i hooked it up to the power and put in a switch what I didn't notice was the wire was shorting out with the ground so i pulled it apart and taped it up. Now everything is fine and I have a switch to change patterns :) thanks for you help. I'm from Quincy Ma. oh and I love this lightbar, I was going to buy something from STL or Voltex lol but AMERICAN ALL THE WAY
