I got a whelen edge 9000 recently and when we wired it up to test it. There is a god aweul siren like screech coming from it. I know there are 2 of these "sirens" mounted because it sounds when just the front, just the back or all strobes are activated.

My question is, is there a way for me to remove them without ruining the rest of my light bar and if so how!

Thanks guys for any advice or help.

Some websites are actually sayings its a transistor... but it doesnt seem like my light bar should be making a screeching noise when the strobes are activated.

Thats the strobe power supplies firing. No way to get rid of that noise unless you find newer 9000 series supplies or 9M supplies. But you will have to re wire the entire inside of the bar in order for them to work. I used to have one like that. The plugs are different from the ones used today.

once you have all the domes on and it is mounted outside of the truck you will not really notice it

some of us love that old strobe whine

Agreed, once the blades on the ground scraping you won't hear it and with the radio on it will drownd the noise out.

If u can't take the noise, I'll buy one of the end lenses from you. I have a broken one. :)
