    Hi,

I have a AYP 30" 2 stage thrower. When the unit is running in forward gear, the right wheel will bind every 3 to 4 feet causing the machine to steer to the right. It binds for about 1/2 second then is back to normal. When I pull both levers to 'freewheel' the unit, there is no binding. Does anyone know what can cause this?

    Thanks.

    2 stage snow caster

About your 2 stage snow caster,

You have a bad bearing/dieing bearing
in the right side of the transmission.

I have talked extensively about the BCS
two wheel tractors and their single and
    two snow casters extensively here.

I do not know how much it would cost to
repair it but it may nor be worth repairing
simply replacing it outright if you cannot
afford a BCS and the snow caster attachment.

The great thing about a BCS or a Grillo two wheel
tractor is that they are gear driven like a tractor and that
is why they last so long and perform so well as there is
no weak link in the drive train and they use ball bearings
    rather than bronze bushings/bearings.
