Other than weight, HD has 4 trip springs, RD has 3 and LD has2. I think the SD is what the LD was and there is no longer an RD. Heavy duty (HD), regular duty (RD) and light duty(LD) if that tells you anything.

Close, but not quite. There are no four spring 7.5 plows.

Three springs used to be called RD, now HD
Two springs used to be called LD, now SD.

Pretty sure it's a marketing thing.....Guys are more inclined to buy a plow labeled Heavy Duty rather than Regular Duty. And Standard Duty sounds better than Light Duty.

Many guys are quite insecure about the size of their plow.

It's all Doody as far as I'm concerned.

As of right now, my New Year's resolution is to refrain from making any bad Plowagra™ jokes.

Unless, of course, I just did. :D

Now that you say that, the HD I saw wasn't 7.5!

HD is 29"; HT is 27"; SD is 26"

HD is 11 or 12 gauge; HT and SD is 14 gauge

There are other differences, like angle ram etc.
