Okay just like on the "what state.." poll, I'm going to have to group some. For those of you that have larger operations, just vote for your favorite piece.

    2 - 8'2" steel Boss V's
    1 - 9'2" Ploy Boss V

Like them very much, but wouldn't be affraid to try fisher.

Wish I had room to add Boss because I think a lot of guys on plow site have them, but here in NY Fisher Western and Blizzard are the big three. But this poll is also about what type but as long as you "Other" guys list what you have in your thread, than Boss will have their day.

Don't really care as long as it's getting the job done with little or no maintenance. I think this is the main concern.......

Around here the two biggies are Western and Boss. There are a lot of older Western Straight blades and if you have a V it is most likely a Boss. Newer straight blades are split Boss/Western. The distant third is meyer followed by blizzard.

I guess Meyer Plows are relegated* to "Other Straight Plows"
There are a lot of Meyer Plows in NE Ohio for some reason?

Curtis. Only plow I've ever used. They dont have a dealer that is close though, so when I get my new truck I'll either get a western, boss or fisher. I like those x blades.

I've used two different Meyers blades over the last 15 years. Only two problems I've ever had is a broken wire at a solinoid and a hose coupler came apart.

Got a Meyer ST 7.5 right now. I bought the plow and truck new back in 99. Plow has never given me any problems at all whatsoever! My next blade will be a 9' Western V when I get a new ride of course. I never have really understood why people don't really like Meyers. I have had nothing but consistant productivity with my blade. The guy I sub for has nothing but Western and he has had a ton of different problems! I started taking over the maintenance part of the snow plow op this year for him(for a small fee of course!)so he really hasn't had many problems other than operator error. Anyways, I like my Meyer, but I will have a Western in the future because I like the Western V better than the Meyer.:dizzy:

Well, it's the only snow plow I've ever pushed, but I have a Meyer 7.5 foot. I just put a new cutting edge on it and it did what it was supposed to do when I needed it to.
I'm happy with it so far...
