First year I 've needed to hire a sub and wondering what is the proper way and amt. to pay. One sub is driving 1994 Chev 1500 4X4 with a 7 1/2 ft. Hiniker with bucket ends. The other sub has 2- 1/2 ton trucks with 7 1/2 ft. plows and one 773 bobcat with snow bucket. Any help will be very appreciated. (Dino-if you read this could you contact me? I lost your #) (320)251-6940.

I don't know what the going rate there is but for a 7.5 plow $45-$50pr hr. is average here. The bobcat would be $65-70pr hr. maybe more if it comes with a trailer that can be hauled from job to job. This price is going to vary A LOT BY LOCATION! If you want to know for sure call a couple of local contractors and ask them what they pay for the same equipment.

Will vary by area, but here's a feeler:

    10-50 average hours/winter = $65-75.00/hr.
    50-100 average hours/winter = $55-65.00/hr.
    100-150 average hours/winter = $45-55.00/hr.
    150-200 average hours/winter = $35-45.00/hr.
    200-300 average hours/winter = $25-35.00/hr.
    300+ average hours/winter = $20-35.00/hr.

perhaps my hours are off, but generally the more hours plowed, the less the pay per hour.
