what plow will fit

    i just bought a I have a 1987 ford f-150, 4 speed with 69,000 miles and was wondering what plows will fit?

    any plow brand should fit. id say a 7.5 footer would be good as well

    Many will fit. You can piece a system together fairly cheaply with that year truck. A used truck side mount and new bolts here, a rebuilt pump there, a good blade a county away, wire harness / lights out of a supplier. Ask questions here!

    Mine was an 89. It took a standard Meyer truck side mount, standard spread plow, standard lights and wire harness now you can plow!

    It all depends.....do you have Air Conditioning?

    A V plow is too heavy for a F-150.

    so do you think a 8.5' wester or meyer will work?

    You have to go by weight. Find out what your axle rating is from the tag on the drivers door jam.It will tell you the weight rating of the front axle. Look up what plow will work on the manufacturer web site.Most 1/2 ton's you have to go with the lightest 7.5 commercial grade they have.You can plow with it, you just don't have the big dog plow. I would bet 1/2 the plow trucks in this country are 1/2 tons.
